Meeting to Highlight Importance of Communities
Mississippi's small towns play a vital role in Mississippi Economy. At the MEC Annual meeting on Thrusday, April 12, the importance vital communities in Mississippi will be in the spotlight.
Jack Schultz, author of the best-selling Boomtown USA: The 7 ½ Keys to Big Success in Small Towns, will be the keynote speaker at the MEC Annual Meeting on Thursday, April 12 at the Jackson Convention Complex in downtown Jackson.
Also speaking will be Govenor Phil Bryant. The event will also honor the state's stop high school students who were chosen as STAR students.
Leadership Mississippi Launches 2012 Program Year in Jackson
The Leadership Mississippi Class of 2012 held its opening session January 25-27 in Jackson, receiving a major dose of politics. The class is made up of 49 of Mississippi’s top leaders, who will spend the upcoming year learning and traveling to all regions of Mississippi in order to get a better understanding of issues important in moving Mississippi forward.
During the opening session, the class toured the Mississippi Children’s Museum and the Old Capitol Museum. In addition to enjoying an opportunity to meet and get to know fellow classmates, alumni of Leadership Mississippi also took part in the session, serving on panels and attending events.
