SELECTION CRITERIA

The Leadership Mississippi Selection Committee seeks to identify those individuals most likely to utilize their leadership abilities for the long-term benefit of Mississippi. Participation is open to all citizens of the state. Leadership Mississippi will seek a class of leaders who represent the various geographic regions of the state from the public, private, and non-profit sectors. Special consideration will be given to ensure diversity of race and gender.

PROGRAM TUITION

Leadership Mississippi program tuition is $2,500 and covers all program costs, transportation during sessions, and meals. Participants are responsible for their own transportation to the session locations. It is possible that at least five of the six program sessions could be out of your geographical area. A limited number of scholarships are available for those requiring financial assistance. A request for scholarship assistance does not affect selection into the program.

PARTICIPANT RESPONSIBILITIES

Leadership Mississippi will hold an initial three-day orientation followed by four (4) two-day sessions in various regions of the state. Each session will begin Thursday morning and conclude Friday afternoon. The programs are scheduled approximately every other month beginning in January. Attendance at all sessions is required. Participants not adhering to the attendance requirements will be automatically dropped from the program with no portion of the tuition refunded. Involvement in Leadership Mississippi does not end upon completion of the program. As part of the alumni program, graduates of Leadership Mississippi are expected to assume active roles in state and local activities and identify participants for future Leadership Mississippi programs.
