More than 2,300 business and community leaders from around the state attended MEC's recently-completed Pacesetter Tour, held in 22 locations statewide. At each location, MEC discussed Transportation, Economic Competitiveness, and the effects of a Healthy & Productive Workforce to Mississippi.

At each event, attendees had the opportunity to provide feedback on the importance of transportation infrastructure across the state.

  • When asked how they saw Mississippi in 10 years, 34% said that our state would become a "Newly-emerging growth state"
  • 64% agree that Mississippi's economy is better off today than it was five years ago
  • 52% said that their community's most pressing transportation need was maintenance of existing roadways
  • 35% strongly agreed that Charter Public Schools should continue to be a part of Mississippi's overall education reform strategy

Results from each individual event can be found below.

The MEC Pacesetter Tour was made possible thanks to a generous sponsorship from Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi.
