Leadership Mississippi has a rich history of strengthening and improving Mississippi. It is the second oldest leadership program in the United States.

Leadership Mississippi has graduated over 30 classes with more than 1000 graduates. Many graduates hold public offices, including Mississippi Secretary of State, federal and state judges, legislators, mayors, and other local government officials. Other graduates are heads of major corporations, local chambers of commerce, economic development groups and civic organizations. Many more are successful entrepreneurs.

Leadership Mississippi's goal is to:
Develop and maintain a network of Mississippians committed to strengthening our state's quality of life.

Leadership Mississippi's objectives are:
1. To identify Mississippians who have demonstrated leadership potential
through job-related and community activities
2. To train participants by sharpening their leadership skills
3. To motivate participants by increasing awareness of community and state
challenges, involving participants in problem-solving activities on issues of
current interest, and providing a network of leaders across the state who
are actively involved in improving Mississippi's quality of life.
