UM DIVISION OF OUTREACH AND BLUE OX DEVELOP PAPERLESS SOLUTION TO IMPROVE INSTRUCTIONAL PROCESS IN CLASSROOMS
 
OXFORD, Miss. - The University of Mississippi has joined forces with a strategic consulting company, Blue Ox, LLC, to create a new technology-based management system for school districts designed to improve the instructional process in K-12 classrooms. The collaborative efforts of the UM Institute for Education and Workforce Development (IEWD) within the Division of Outreach and Blue Ox was developed to create a paperless environment that would enhance the visibility and accountability for student performance.
 
"In this collaborative effort with the University of Mississippi, Blue Ox is pleased to provide the strategic management, and software development resources to create the LINKS paperless system to manage the intervention process and teacher evaluation. Blue Ox will also provide systems training to administrators as well as systems support for each school to ensure their faculty and leadership teams effectively manage the LINKS paperless environment." said John Yerger, Principal of Blue Ox. 
 
LINKS provides the administrative team with timely, continuous access to student-level intervention data and the teacher's implementation of effective instruction.
 
LINKS will make instructional data available to educators so that they may create coaching conversations that will improve student performance. It connects effective classroom instruction, teacher evaluation, and student achievement.
 
"The Institute for Education and Workforce Development will provide professional development to each LINKS school to assist administrators in creating a coaching environment focusing on the system data output as it relates to the faculty and leadership teams," said Susan Rucker, IEWD Director.  "Teams will visit classrooms and collaborate with instructors on how to provide differentiated instruction to serve the needs of each individual student."

The Institute for Education and Workforce Development is based at the University of Mississippi within he Division of Outreach.  The Institute works with school districts in areas that include Leadership Development, Instructional Coaching, Team Building, and Strategic Planning.  The Institute also works with leadership teams in schools to successfully implement strategies that will enhance student performance in the classroom.
