October has been designated as "Let's Get Working Mississippi" month. Les Range, executive director of the Mississippi Department of Employment Security, made the announcement at the Capitol on Oct. 1.

Range said throughout the month, MDES will be focusing on new initiatives aimed at encouraging employers to list jobs with the department. Also, Range announced a $1.4 million grant from the U.S. Department of Labor that will help people currently receiving unemployment benefits to focus on re-employment services at 24 WIN Job Centers in the state.
