Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant Releases Report Aimed
at Reforming Budget Process and Strategic Planning

Legislation is now on the drawing board to institute a state wide strategic planning and more performance-based budgeting among other cost-efficient measures planned for state government.

A new report, released Monday, Nov. 30, by Lt. Gov. Phil Bryant and the Commission for a New Mississippi, discusses a more effective strategy for the way the state conducts the people’s business.

The report, a yearlong effort, outlined three strategies for a more efficient state government. Referred to by the report as a three-legged stool approach, meaning that one strategy cannot effectively stand without the other. The strategies are:
