MEC Marathon Tour completes 26 stops

 

The MEC Marathon Tour: Building Our Competitive Future, began in Vicksburg on September 10, 2008, and finished up in Tupelo on December 12 after making stops in 26 Mississippi cities and towns.

The Mississippi Economic Council’s 2008 fall tour was designed to help create sustainable and measurable initiatives, which will place our state at the forefront.

Participants heard about how Mississippi is approaching early childhood education and dropout prevention. There were updates on Momentum Mississippi and what’s happening in workforce development and teacher retention. Participants also had a chance to tell us what they thought. 

These important 90-minute meetings, were held during breakfast, lunch or an afternoon reception and included a presentation from MEC president Blake Wilson.

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi generously sponsored these meetings throughout the state.
